Own Azure architecture and Well-Architected reviews of customer environments end-to-end — assess across cost, reliability, security, performance, and operational excellence.
Translate findings into prioritized recommendations; present to and partner with customer engineering teams through implementation — validating remediation and course-correcting against real-world constraints.
Own the quality of the team's Azure analysis and recommendations — validate output, add new recommendations, and close the gap between what's seen in the field and what the team's tooling produces.
Feed patterns observed in reviews back into the team's internal methodology and tooling; raise the leverage of every review.
Make and own Azure architecture decisions at scale — API consumption across tenants and subscriptions, identity boundaries, multi-tenant data handling.
Set the technical bar for the Azure team; mentor engineers ramping on Azure; raise the team's Azure baseline.
Partner with engineering leadership on Azure strategy, sequencing, and hiring.
Contribute hands-on to platform engineering and tooling where depth is needed — this is a building role, not an advisory one.
ARM, Resource Graph, and the Azure REST API surface — including designing API consumption at scale.
Identity & access — service principals, managed identities, RBAC, Entra ID; multi-tenant boundaries.
Azure Monitor and Log Analytics (non-trivial KQL), Activity Log.
Cost Management, billing constructs, Reservations / Savings Plans.
Core compute, storage, networking, and Key Vault.
Strong programming skills (Python preferred) — able to build production tooling, not only review and advise.
Proven track record running architecture / Well-Architected reviews and presenting to customer technical stakeholders.
At least one IaC tool in production — Terraform preferred; Bicep / ARM templates acceptable.
Solid debugging and operational judgment — comfortable owning production systems.
