Overprovisioned | PD Tier Optimization

Persistent Disk (PD) in GCP offers multiple storage tiers, ranging from high-performance pd-ssd to general-purpose pd-balanced. When a pd-ssd disk consistently shows low IOPS and throughput over a 30-day period, it indicates that the workload is not benefiting from the premium performance it is provisioned for.

This recommendation identifies such over-provisioned standalone and Managed Instance Group (MIG)-managed disks and suggests downgrading them to a more suitable tier to reduce costs while maintaining required performance levels.
