Revamp Of Compute Engine (GCP)

The Compute Engine Dashboard Revamp introduces a centralized, at-a-glance cost intelligence experience within CK Lens, enabling users to better understand compute spend, usage patterns, and cost drivers with enhanced clarity and control.

The updated dashboard consolidates Instance Cost and Storage Cost into a unified Compute Engine view, combining high-level summary metrics with detailed breakdowns and interactive visualizations in a single, cohesive interface. Users can quickly view last three months cost trends along with cost distribution across key pricing models such as On-Demand, Preemptible, and Committed Use Discounts (1Yr, 3Yr, CUD Premium).

With intuitive navigation and one-click access to deeper insights, the revamped experience eliminates fragmentation and enables faster, more actionable cost analysis.

The new dashboard includes interactive charts for dimensions such as Project ID, Region, Instance Type, Pricing Type, Processor Type, Resource Group, and Usage Type (SKU), allowing users to identify cost concentration and optimization opportunities with ease.

A detailed resource-level table provides granular visibility into project, instance, region, usage, and pricing metrics, enabling both instance-level and SKU-level analysis. Users can also analyze daily and monthly cost trends, compare usage patterns, and evaluate cost distribution across regions and projects.

With enhanced controls such as time granularity toggles, interactive chart views, tooltips, and export functionality, the Compute Engine Dashboard Revamp delivers improved usability, deeper insights, and a streamlined experience aligned with CK Lens design standards—helping users make more informed and data-driven cost optimization decisions.
